Job summary

Multnomah Education Service District (MESD) is seeking a Part-Time Speech Language Pathologist to assess, diagnose and provide direct language services to students in grades K-8 at Arata Creek School in Troutdale, OR.

The role reports to the SPED Program Administrator and includes IEP development, therapy implementation, and collaboration with families and school staff. Requires Oregon SLP license, CCC-SLP, and Master’s degree.

POSITION PURPOSE:

To assess, provide direct instruction and provide services to language impaired students in grades Kindergarten through 8th.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Act as a resource person in the area of speech-language pathology services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

• Emotional and physical stamina to perform duties as required by the designated task except for temporary disability.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

• Bilingual or multilingual in Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese, Russian and/or Somali

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Master's degree in speech-language pathology accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) or recognized by the Oregon Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (BSPA).
• Hold a Speech-Language Pathology License as issued by the State of Oregon Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology
• Current Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech and Language Pathology from the American Speech and Hearing Association.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in a wide variety of locations, including office and school environments. Work typically involves sitting, walking and attendance at evening and weekend meetings. This position requires the use of computers, office equipment and frequent local/regional travel. The ability to work remotely on a computer for a long period of time is required. Occasional out of state travel may be required.
