Job summary

Dignity Health's Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City, CA seeks a Speech Language Pathologist to assess, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders, aiming to markedly improve patient quality of life.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders required.
• CA SLP license to be obtained upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (AHA BLS CPR) certification required.
• Experience with Modified Barium Swallow studies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately identifies communication disorders through screening and assessment.
• Obtains pertinent medical history prior to evaluation.
• Performs comprehensive evaluations and records information.
• Reports results clearly to patients, families, and referral sources.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Speech Language Pathologist, you will be a vital clinician, expertly assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders to significantly improve patient quality of life.

Every day, you will conduct comprehensive evaluations for all referred patients, meticulously implementing individualized treatment plans. You'll contribute clinical expertise to develop/upgrade treatment programs/protocols, and actively shape departmental and organizational goals.

To be successful in this role, you will possess advanced clinical knowledge, exceptional diagnostic/therapeutic skills, and a compassionate, patient-centered approach.

• Accurately identifies communication disorder through appropriate screening and assessment measures.
• Obtains pertinent information about patients medical history prior to evaluation.
• Conducts comprehensive evaluations. Elicits and records information.
• Accurately and clearly reports evaluation and treatment results to patients and families.
• Encourages participation by patient and family in the establishment of goals and measurement of progress.
• Accurately reports evaluation and treatment results to referral sources and others.

Job Requirements

Required

• Masters Other Speech Pathology, Communicative Disorders or Communicative Science, upon hire and
• Masters Other or equivalent in Speech Pathology, Communicative Disorders or Communicative Science, upon hire and
• Speech Language Pathologist: CA SLP, upon hire and
• Basic Life Support - AHA BLS CPR, upon hire

Preferred

• Experience with Modified Barium Swallow studies and
• Newly licensed, (see below for licensure). During the externship, experience with adults and geriatric patients with dysphasia and
• Experience with Modified Barium Swallow studies

Pay Range

$57.70 - $85.83 /hour
