Job summary

Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy is seeking a part-time Speech-Language Pathologist to work in two outpatient clinics in Western Nassau County and Eastern Queens, NY. The role is 30 hours per week across two sites, with a mixed caseload including Aphasia, Dysphagia, Pediatrics, TBI, Voice, and Cognitive Communication Disorders.

Qualified candidates are licensed as SLPs in NY or eligible. Experience with both adults and pediatrics is required; travel between clinics is expected.

Qualifications

• Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in NY or eligible.
• Evaluates a patient's need for speech therapy and develops an appropriate treatment plan.
• Provide appropriate care and treatment to patients based on physician care plan and policy.
• Instructs family members, Home Health Aides and other caregivers in speech therapy techniques & HEP
• Mandatory Certifications: First Aid, AED, & CPR (live course)

Job Description

What we are looking for:Metro's Speech Department continues to grow, and we are looking for a part-time Speech-Language Pathologist to work in 2 of our outpatient clinics located in Western Nassau & Eastern Queens. The position is 30 hours per week split 2 days in each clinic. Caseload is mixed and demographics include Aphasia, Dysphagia, Pediatrics, TBI, Voice, Cognitive Communication Disorders, AAC use, etc. Experience with both adults and pediatrics is required.

Metro is looking for a motivated, compassionate, forward-thinking Speech Therapist who excels at assessing patients’ strengths and weaknesses and devising creative but effective treatment plans.
