This position is ideal for an SLP with a strong background in public schools who enjoys comprehensive evaluations, collaborating with other professionals, and contributing to meaningful educational recommendations.

Unlike a traditional therapy position, this role focuses primarily on conducting Speech and Language Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs) for students referred by school districts. Referrals are received on an as-needed basis, making this an excellent opportunity for an SLP seeking flexible, intermittent consulting work.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.

  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a public school setting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of special education eligibility, IDEA, and educational assessment practices.
  • Develops individualized, measurable speech-language intervention goals and educational recommendations based on comprehensive assessment findings.
  • Excellent written communication and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
The ideal candidate is someone who:
  • Has significant experience evaluating school-age students.
  • Is comfortable selecting and administering standardized and informal assessment tools.
  • Is able to interpret assessment results to establish accurate diagnoses.
  • Understands the educational impact of speech and language disorders.
  • Is able to identify functional communication strengths and areas of need.
  • Develops individualized, measurable treatment goals based on assessment findings.
  • Enjoys complex diagnostic work more than providing ongoing therapy.
  • Is comfortable interpreting assessment findings within the context of special education.
  • Appreciates collaborating with psychologists and other professionals to develop comprehensive recommendations.
  • Values objectivity, professionalism, and high-quality independent evaluations.
  • Is familiar with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems.
  • Exhibits strong organizational and time-management skills.
