Job summary

Boston Children’s Hospital is seeking a Speech & Language Pathologist to support inpatient feeding and swallowing therapy within Otolaryngology & Communication Enhancement. You will assess and treat pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders across NICU, PICU, CICU, and acute care units, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires a Master’s in SLP, ASHA CCC, and Massachusetts licensure, with 1-3 years of related pediatric experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• 1–3 years of pediatric feeding/swallowing clinical experience.
• ASHA Certification (CCC) and MA state licensure.

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive assessment and treatment of pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders in the inpatient setting (NICU, PICU, CICU, acute care).
• Performing instrumental swallowing assessments (MBS/FEES).
• Providing family education, bedside training, and case coordination.
• Participating in rounds, team conferences, and documentation.
• Collaborating with physicians, SLPs, and other health professionals.

The Speech & Language Pathologist will be responsible for:

• Comprehensive assessment and treatment of pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders in the inpatient setting, including Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CICU), and Acute Care Units
• Performing instrumental assessment of swallowing, including Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies and/or Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES)
• Providing family education, bedside provider training, and case coordination
• Participating in unit rounds, specialty team rounds, and case conferences
• Completing documentation related to feeding and swallowing assessment and treatment
• Working in close collaboration and partnership with physicians, speech-language pathologists, and other health care professionals

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

• A Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology

Experience:

• 1-3 years of directly related clinical experience in pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders is required. Strong clinical fellows may be considered.

Licensure/Certification:

• Certificate of Clinical Competence (ASHA)
• A current Massachusetts state license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist
• Ability to work collaboratively with interprofessional teams in a fast-paced medical environment.
