Job summary

West Ottawa Public Schools in Michigan seeks a Speech and Language Pathologist to evaluate and support language and communication needs of students in special education. You will contribute to IEPs, collaborate with teachers and families, and deliver targeted services.

Valid Michigan teaching certificate and licensure required. Early childhood experience preferred. Knowledge of IDEA and Michigan Guidelines essential. On-site position reporting to the Special Education Director.

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan teaching certificate required.
• Must be certified and licensed in the state of Michigan.
• Early childhood experience preferred.
• Knowledge of IDEA and Michigan Guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive evaluations of students in response to special education referrals.
• Participate in educational planning and consultation in the schools.
• Provide speech and language services to special education students as assigned on the IEP.
• Effectively communicate, consult, and team with parents, staff, agencies and others.
• Perform appropriate action in response to referrals of special education students.
• Adhere to West Ottawa's policies, procedures and practices.
• Complete assigned responsibilities within agreed-upon or established timelines.
• Continue to acquire professional knowledge and learn current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops, or professional development meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
