Job summary

Bank Street College of Education is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to implement developmentally appropriate, child-centered therapy for children with IEPs. The candidate will model positive language and social interactions in line with NY guidelines and Bank Street policies.

The role involves planning and delivering therapies, collaborating with families, documenting progress, and supervising graduate interns. A NYS SLP license and teaching certification are required.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology is required.
  • New York State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist is required.
  • New York State teaching certification in TSSH/TSSLD is required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate therapeutic practices focused on each child's IEP goals.
  • Partner with parents to support growth and development.
  • Communicate with parents in writing and verbally throughout the year.
  • Document and maintain student records per Preschool Special Education guidelines.
  • Perform Speech-Language evaluations as needed.
  • Attend required clinical meetings and team reviews.
  • Maintain a clean and safe therapy environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and administrators.
  • Follow NYS and NYC guidelines for health and education programs.
  • Supervise graduate-level Speech-LPATH interns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.
