As a Home Health Speech Language Pathologist, you will:

  1. Evaluate, direct, and provide speech/language pathology services to patients in the home or facility.
  2. Participate in the development and periodic review of the Plan of Treatment and Plan of Care.
  3. Utilize professional skills and judgment in assessing and treating disorders of speech, voice, language, hearing, and swallowing to prevent, identify, evaluate, and minimize the effects of such disorders and conditions.
  4. Administer and interpret diagnostic tests and apply therapeutic treatments, including audiologic screening.
  5. Observe, record, and report changes in the patient's condition and response to treatment to supervisors and/or physicians.
  6. Provide instruction and training to patients in the use of alternative communication systems when appropriate.
  7. Provide counsel and instruction to patients, families, and healthcare staff.
  8. Maintain and submit documentation as required by the company and/or facility, including evaluations, visits, summaries, care plans, and progress reports.
  9. Participate in care coordination activities and discharge planning.
  10. Maintain confidentiality and share information only when appropriately authorized and in the best interest of the patient.
  11. Attend, participate in, and/or conduct staff development programs and obtain ongoing education as required.

Required Experience/Skills:

  1. Meet education and experience requirements for Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology or Audiology granted by ASHA.
  2. Minimum of six months experience as a speech therapist or speech-language pathologist.
  3. Home health experience is a plus.
  4. Current and unrestricted license.
  5. Current CPR certification.
  6. Good organizational and communication skills.
  7. A valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation are required.

Pay Range: $49.00 - $69.00 per visit/unit or $77,200 - $106,200 per year, depending on location and experience.
