Job summary

CommuniCare Rehab in Keyser, WV is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join our in-house therapy team at the Keyser Healthcare Center. This full-time position focuses on evaluating and treating residents to improve communication, swallowing, and cognitive abilities.

You will work with families and caregivers, lead interdisciplinary meetings, and have the opportunity to serve residents across multiple locations within the CommuniCare Family of Companies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an Accredited Program.
• Hold a valid or pending State Speech Language Pathology License.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, review, and screen residents' medical charts, evaluations under physician order and develop a treatment plan in accordance with patient’s needs.
• Plan, direct, or conduct rehabilitative treatment programs to improve communication, swallowing, and/or cognitive problems, as well as administer, score, and interpret specialized speech tests.
• Instruct residents, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide ways to practice new skills, diet recommendations, and modifications for safe swallowing techniques.
• Attend/Lead interdisciplinary meetings as appropriate to relay clinical findings and make recommendations to other members of the rehab team, as well as participating in family meetings/education.
