Job summary

CommuniCare Rehab is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for a full-time role at Keyser Healthcare Center, WV. This in-house position focuses on therapy for residents with a commitment to high-quality, person-centered care.

Responsibilities include evaluating charts, planning treatment for communication, swallowing, and cognitive issues, and guiding families in practice and safety. Opportunities exist to serve at multiple locations within the CommuniCare network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an Accredited Program.
• Valid or pending State Speech Language Pathology License.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, review, and screen patients’ charts and evaluations under physician order and develop a treatment plan.
• Plan, direct, or conduct rehabilitative treatment programs to improve communication, swallowing, and cognitive issues; administer and interpret tests.
• Instruct residents, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide practice strategies, diet recommendations, and safe-swallow techniques.
• Attend/interdisciplinary meetings to relay clinical findings; participate in family meetings and education.
• Opportunity to treat at multiple locations to meet residents’ diverse needs.

Qualifications:

• Must have a Bachelors and/or a Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an Accredited Program.
• Hold a valid or pending State Speech Language Pathology License

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Evaluate, Review, and Screen patient’s/resident’s medical charts, evaluations under physician order and develop a treatment plan in accordance with patient’s needs.
• Plan, direct, or conduct rehabilitative treatment programs to improve communication, swallowing, and/or cognitive problems, as well as administer, score, and interpret specialized speech tests.
• Instruct residents, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide ways to practice new skills, diet recommendations, and modifications for safe swallowing techniques.
• Attend/Lead interdisciplinary meetings as appropriate to relay clinical findings and make recommendations to other members of the rehab team, as well as participating in family meetings/education.
