Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Professional experience in voice and neurologically involved patients, preferably in a hospital setting.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) and current Texas license to practice Speech-Language Pathology.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patients using a wide variety of therapeutic techniques to assist rehabilitation of speech, language, hearing, and oral motor disorders.
• Performs evaluations with attention to receptive and expressive language, fluency, vocal and oral motor competence, articulation and auditory skills.
• Records speech samples and conducts phonetic analyses of speech ability.
• Documents test results and develops individualized treatment plans and activities to enhance language usage and communication.
• Confers with associates and implements treatment using corrective exercises and specialized equipment.
• Maintains active communication with the patient regarding progress, problems, and home programs.
• Provides patient and caregiver education and training for home exercise programs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
