Job summary

Ingham ISD in Mason, MI is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist for Early On to support children aged 0-3 with disabilities. You will conduct evaluations, provide direct and indirect therapy, and collaborate with families and staff.

Under supervision of the Director of Early Childhood Special Education, you will participate in multidisciplinary teams, deliver family-centered services, and help eligible children access educational supports.

Qualifications

  • Michigan licensure and ASHA CCCs required.
  • Knowledge of typical and atypical speech and language development necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations for children ages 0-3.
  • Provide direct and indirect therapy services and family-centered support.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, staff, parents and administrators.

About The Role

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Early Childhood Special Education Services and in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the Ingham Intermediate School District, the Speech and Language Pathologist shall provide supportive services to children age 0-3 with disabilities. The Speech and Language Pathologist will focus on child evaluation, provision of direct and indirect therapy services, family-centered services, and collaborative consultation with staff, parents, agency personnel and administrators.

  • Provides comprehensive speech and language evaluation of children age 0-3 referred to Early On for suspected developmental delays in: articulation, language, fluency, voice, pragmatic/social communication and pre-linguistic areas.
  • Serves as a member of the Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team for children age 0-3 suspected of having a disability.
  • Assists the family in understanding the etiology and physiology of the child’s delay, impairment, and/or diagnosed condition. Supports the family by relating this information to the physical and educational needs of the child, and by providing resources to assist the family in addressing the child’s needs
About You
  • Full approval as a Michigan Teacher of the Speech and Language Impaired or Speech and Language Pathologist Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC’s) from ASHA.
  • Must be licensed through Michigan Bureau of Health Care Services.
  • Knowledge of typical and atypical speech and language development necessary to identify appropriate interventions and/or augmentative communication applications for children.
