Summary

Apply principles, methods, and procedures to analyze speech and language comprehension and production to assess communicative competencies. Provide intervention strategies and services related to speech, language, literacy, voice, articulation, fluency, and functional communication that impact educational performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with professionals and parents to observe, plan, implement, monitor, and facilitate communication skills development. Use research-based practices to inform decisions and interventions, and work with school teams and parents to develop and modify strategies.
  2. Conduct relevant assessments to address presenting concerns and meaningful communication skills.
  3. Utilize various service delivery options and evidence-based practices to promote generalization of communication skills.
  4. Manage time effectively, organize materials, and communicate with school teams and administrators to support student programs. Engage in problem-solving with school-based teams.
  5. Monitor individual progress towards goals and objectives.
  6. Share knowledge on communication, language, and literacy development with individuals and groups.
  7. Advocate for students' communication needs across different settings.
  8. Participate in professional development activities to maintain high standards of service.
  9. Utilize specialized services for students with complex needs.
  10. Assist in supervising Speech/Language Pathology Assistants as needed.
  11. Comply with district policies and procedures, including Medicaid billing and accident reporting.
  12. Provide direct and indirect interventions/therapy aligned with students' IEPs.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Criminal background check required.
  • Valid Colorado Educator License or ability to obtain one.
  • Meet highly qualified status in instructional areas.

Preference: Candidates with ELL Training and/or ESL or LDE Endorsement are preferred.
