Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a licensed Speech Language Pathologist to evaluate, plan, and implement treatment plans addressing a variety of patient diagnoses. The position is 30 hours per week with variable days and shifts, offering opportunities to collaborate with nursing and rehabilitation teams.

The role requires a Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology and licensure in IL or WI, plus CCC from ASHA. Strong documentation, mentoring, and commitment to high-quality care are essential.

  • Licensed as a speech language pathologist in IL or WI as required.

OVERVIEWThe Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for the evaluation, planning and implementation of a treatment plan addressing the functional needs of a variety of patient diagnoses.SCHEDULE: 30-hours per weekSHIFT: Variable, daysESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPerforms evaluation / assessment using evidence-based standards to create an effective plan of care.Applies critical thinking and integrative treatment to improve the functional level of the patient.Maintains a thorough record of services provided with appropriate coding and billing.Communicates with other disciplines and referring providers to enhance outcomes.Performs thorough and timely electronic documentationStrengths in care delivery as evidenced by peer review feedback; consistently demonstrates advanced evaluation and treatment techniquesAssists in the orientation, training and mentoring of new partnersParticipates in cost saving initiatives within the departmentActive participant in the Performance Improvement processMaintain a high standard of patient care and provide effective communication between speech language pathologists, nursing and rehabilitation team, and the physician groupPlans and conducts lectures and training programs on speech language pathology and related topics for medical staff, students and community groupEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEMaster’s Degree from an accredited school of Speech Language PathologyCERTIFICATION/LICENSURELicensed as a speech language pathologist in WI, IL or both if requiredCertificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)CPR/BLS required within 90 days of hireOTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIESPassing the Driver’s License checkTravel to other locations for cross coveragePassing the WI Caregiver Background Check and/or IL Health Care Workers Background CheckMust be able to follow written/oral instructionsLEVEL OF SUPERVISIONSome independent judgement is required, based upon scope of practice and within professional standards.PAY RANGE:$36.56 - $54.85Mercyhealth is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
