Job summary

Americare is seeking an Independent Contractor Speech Language Pathologist in New York to evaluate speech and language abilities, plan rehabilitative services, and document patient progress daily. You will guide families and collaborate with the health team to support communication goals.

Required: NY licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist, a master's degree and supervised experience; ASHA membership and certification preferred.

Job Description: Position: Independent Contractor Speech Language Pathologist

The Speech Language Pathologist evaluates patient's speech and language abilities, both defects and assets, and performs periodic reevaluations. Plans and provides rehabilitating services for speech and language disorders. Maintain records of patient’s progress and reaction toward treatment daily. Instructs and counsels other health team personnel and family members in methods of assisting patients in improving, correcting, and accepting disabilities.

Position Qualifications:

• As required, licensed by The State of New York as a Speech Language Pathologist
• A master's degree is required and one (1) full year of supervised work experience.
• Speech Language Pathologist supervisors must have at least three (3) years of clinical experience.
• The Speech Language Pathologist is a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association and certified by the association.
• Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment.
