Job summary

Essentia Health is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat patients across speech, language, cognition, and swallowing, with a full caseload and education responsibilities.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, provide discharge planning, documentation, and supervise support staff, with opportunities in rural outpatient and hospital settings.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from accredited speech and language pathology program.
• Current registration/license to practice speech-language pathology in the state of practice.
• Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, plan, treat, and implement care for patients in speech, language, cognition, and swallowing.
• Provide therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Implement evidence-based interventions.
• Provide patient/caregiver education and discharge planning for a full patient caseload.
• Complete documentation, billing, scheduling management, and other administrative duties.
• Communicate professionally and supervise support staff.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams for optimal clinical and financial outcomes.
• Coordinate with leadership and referring physicians to ensure cohesive patient care.
• Comply with organizational policies, procedures, code of conduct, professional values, ethics, and scope of practice.
• Flex to other departments based on patient need when the home department schedule allows.

• Provide rural healthcare across outpatient, inpatient, home health, and skilled nursing settings
• Deliver care to diverse patient populations
• Provide coverage support for Home Health and Hospice services and additional staffing needs across I-35 clinic locations

Requirements

• Master's degree from accredited speech and language pathology program
• Current registration/license to practice speech-language pathology in the state of practice
• Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license
• Must meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to Essentia Health’s insurer
• Proof of current motor vehicle insurance
• Must meet minimum FTE requirements for marked benefits
