RCM Healthcare Services seeks a bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist for a school-based, onsite role in Chicago, IL. The SLP will evaluate students, provide direct services, and consult with teachers and families to support learning outcomes.

Requirements include a Master's in Speech-Language Pathology, CCC-SLP, IL SLP License, and IL Professional Educators License; compensation is $60-65/hour on a 3-month contract.

Position Summary

The (Spanish) bilingual Speech Language Pathologist provides comprehensive school speech services to students, parents, and school staff, addressing barriers that limit a student from receiving the full benefit from their educational experience. S/he responds to referrals from school administration, parents, teachers, and the Child Study Team by providing direct services and consultation to teachers and families. Responsibilities
  • Complete comprehensive and appropriate evaluations according to State Standards, District Guidelines, and ASHA Guidelines.
  • Provide a complete diagnostic summary report including a summary of evaluation information and educational relevance.
  • Complete IEP paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Cooperate with the Diverse Learner team, recommending/planning for program services in compliance with state standards.
  • When appropriate, make referrals for further evaluation.
  • Obtain and use diagnostic information
  • Administer appropriate assessments for each area of suspected speech/language impairment.
  • Demonstrate understanding and use of the principles of diagnostic evaluation and interpretation.
  • Maintain on-going assessment to verify progress toward established goals.
  • Maintain communication with the building faculty regarding the role of the SLP.
  • Maintain a physical environment conducive to learning.
  • Develop work schedule(s), which will fit the needs of the students, school, and faculty.
  • Report to building principal(s)
  • Develop and maintain the instructional component of the IEP according to the results of the evaluation and on-going assessment of progress.
  • Develop long-range goals and specific objectives.
  • Complete daily notes for each student in a timely manner.
  • Include methods and materials in planning.
  • Document student progress, attendance, etc.
  • Use a variety of approaches and materials to address the IEP that are compatible with the student’s age and interest, and abilities.
  • Stay abreast of and implement new instructional strategies.
  • Provide therapeutic intervention with students to enhance student performance.

  • Hours per week: 35-37.5hours per week
  • Contract length: 3 months
Physical Requirements
  • Regular sitting, speaking, hearing, and use of hands.
  • Occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, and kneeling.
  • Lifting up to 10 pounds.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree or Higher in Speech-language pathology from an accredited program.
Licenses & Certifications
  • A Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • IL SLP License
  • IL Professional Educators License

  • Must be bilingual in English/Spanish
  • Demonstrate knowledge of current best practices in the area of speech-language pathology.
