Illinois School District U-46 is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to support students at Hilltop Elementary and South Elgin High School. The position is a split assignment (0.8 Hilltop ES / 0.2 South Elgin HS) with responsibilities for identification, evaluation, and remediation of articulation, language, and voice disorders within a school-based setting.

The ideal candidate will hold an Illinois SLP certificate and license, plus a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.

Qualifications

  • Illinois Certificate with Speech-Language Pathology endorsement (Type73 or Type10 or Type03).
  • Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation Speech-Language Pathologist license.
  • Master's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology.

Responsibilities

  • Work with parents, students, and staff to prevent, identify, evaluate and remediate a wide range of oral communication problems, including articulation, voice, fluency and language disorders.
  • Identification includes pre-referral processes, screenings and referrals for evaluation.
  • Assessment may include data collection, interpretation, report writing, sharing results with parents and staff, determining eligibility for services, and developing IEPs.
  • Intervention includes caseload management, direct remediation in educational settings, pull-out services, consultation on academics and social issues, developing ongoing goals, documenting progress, collaborating with teachers, and annual reviews.
  • Complete caseload records for special education funding.
  • Maintaining student IEPs and evaluations in the web-based program.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
