Job summary

National Heritage Academies’ Vanguard Charter Academy in Wyoming, MI is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to join its special education team. The SLP will collaborate with administrators, teachers, and families to assess and support students with communication needs.

Responsibilities include evaluating students, developing IEP goals, delivering services through various models, documenting progress, and ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must hold a master’s degree in speech language pathology - CCC from ASHA.
• Experience working with at-risk student populations.
• Experience in a school-based or pediatric environment.
• Familiarity with IEP development, special education compliance, and collaborative service delivery models.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the administrator over special education to develop and coordinate daily service schedules, evaluation timelines, and annual IEP meetings.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including eligibility determinations, annual reviews, and progress monitoring discussions.
• Conduct speech and language evaluations and contribute to assessment planning as part of the special education process.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized speech-language goals aligned with each student’s IEP.
• Provide specially designed instruction to meet unique communication needs of students through various service models.
• Document service delivery, progress notes, and compliance-related paperwork in accordance with guidelines.
• Consult with teachers and families to support carryover of communication strategies across classroom and home environments.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
• Other duties as assigned.
