Job summary

River City Scholars Charter Academy in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a part-time Speech-Language Pathologist to support students in grades K-8 with individualized services.

The role collaborates with administrators and teachers on IEPs, conducts evaluations, develops goals, delivers services in various models, and maintains compliance and records. ASHA CCC is required for this position.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-ASHA) required.
• Experience with at-risk student populations in school-based or pediatric settings.
• Familiarity with IEP development, special education compliance, and collaborative service delivery models.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the administrator over special education to coordinate daily service schedules, evaluation timelines, and annual IEP meetings.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and progress discussions.
• Conduct speech-language evaluations and contribute to assessment planning.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized speech-language goals aligned with IEPs.
• Provide specially designed instruction to meet communication needs through various service models.
• Document service delivery, progress notes, and compliance paperwork.
• Consult with teachers and families to support carryover of communication strategies across settings.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborating with the administrator over special education to develop and coordinate daily service schedules, evaluation timelines, and annual IEP meetings
• Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings, including eligibility determinations, annual reviews, and progress monitoring discussions
• Conducting speech and language evaluations and contributing to assessment planning as part of the special education process
• Developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized speech-language goals aligned with each student’s IEP
• Providing specially designed instruction to meet the unique communication needs of students through a variety of service models.
• Documenting service delivery, progress notes, and compliance-related paperwork in accordance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines
• Consulting with teachers and families to support carryover of communication strategies across classroom and home environments
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.

Qualifications:

• Must hold a master’s degree in speech language pathology - CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Associate (ASHA).
• Experience working with at-risk student populations
• Experience in a school-based or pediatric environment
