Job Summary
We are seeking a pediatric‑passionate Speech Language Pathologist Assistant to provide therapy services to children in the Oakley, CA area in a school setting. The role involves documenting all patient care, observing and participating in treatment, adjusting goals and milestones as needed for the best possible outcomes. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of speech pathology, compassionate care for each client, and excellent organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed speech‑language pathologists in delivering therapy sessions tailored to individual needs, including articulation, language development, and social communication therapy.
- Support children’s intervention programs by implementing therapy activities designed to improve speech and language skills.
- Prepare therapy materials, assist with data collection, and document client progress accurately in accordance with established protocols.
- Collaborate with educators, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistency and effectiveness of therapy interventions.
- Maintain a safe, engaging environment that encourages participation and motivation during therapy activities.
- Stay informed about current best practices in pediatrics, anatomy, and early intervention strategies relevant to speech therapy.
Qualifications
- Experience with pediatrics and early intervention programs.
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy related to speech production, and medical terminology to support accurate assistance during therapy sessions.
- Motivated individuals eager to make a difference through active engagement in speech therapy processes while gaining valuable hands‑on experience in a pediatric healthcare environment.
- 40 hours per week (typically aligned with school calendar).
- Caseload of approximately 50–55 students across multiple school sites.
- Work with 6th – 12th graders.
