Job summary

The Creekside School seeks a compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to join our multidisciplinary team in supporting students with autism and developmental disabilities. Working under a licensed SLP, you’ll implement therapy plans and help students build communication and social skills.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited SLPA program.

• Knowledge of speech and language development.

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized speech and language therapy plans under the supervision of a licensed SLP.
• Provide direct speech-language therapy services to students individually and in small groups.
• Support students in developing speech, language, social communication, and functional communication skills.
• Assist with the implementation of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems and communication strategies.
• Document student progress and maintain accurate therapy records.
• Prepare therapy materials and organize treatment activities.
• Collaborate with SLPs, teachers, families, and multidisciplinary team members to support student success.
• Reinforce communication goals throughout the educational environment.
• Participate in team meetings and IEP discussions as appropriate.
• Maintain compliance with school policies, supervision requirements, and applicable state and federal regulations.

The Creekside School is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and motivated Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to join our multidisciplinary team. Working under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, you’ll help students with autism and developmental disabilities develop communication skills that promote learning, independence, and meaningful social connections.

What We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) program.
• Current California SLPA license or registration, as required.
• Knowledge of speech and language development and common communication disorders.
• Ability to implement treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to building positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with children with autism spectrum disorders or developmental disabilities.
• Experience in a Nonpublic School (NPS), special education, or therapeutic educational setting.
• Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems.
• Knowledge of IEP processes and special education regulations.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.
• Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary teams.
