Job summary

Ampersand Therapy is hiring a full-time Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) for the 2026–2027 school year. This in-person, school-based role supports students in public school districts in Lakewood, WA.

The SLPA will provide direct therapy, assist with IEPs, and work with supervising SLPs within district guidelines. Requirements include an active WA DOH SLPA license (or willingness to obtain), 100 clinical hours, and SLPA program or related degree.

Qualifications

• Active Washington State DOH SLPA license (or willingness to obtain immediately).
• Completion of 100 clinical hours.
• SLPA program completion or a related Bachelor’s degree.

About the Role:
Ampersand Therapy is a therapist-founded, woman-owned company seeking full-time Speech Language Pathologist Assistants (SLPAs) for the 2026–2027 school year. This is an in-person, school-based position supporting students in public school districts.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct speech-language therapy to students




• Support implementation of IEPs and complete documentation




• Collaborate with supervising SLPs and the school special education team




• Deliver services in compliance with district and state guidelines

Requirements:

• Active Washington State DOH SLPA license (or willingness to obtain immediately)




• Completion of 100 clinical hours




• Completion of an SLPA program or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field




• Must complete fingerprinting/background check prior to start




• School-based or pediatric experience preferred but not required
