Job summary

Amergis in Palo Alto, CA is seeking a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for a school-based role for the 2026–2027 year. The position offers a local pay rate of $50/hr and a 37.5 hour work week.

Under the supervision of a licensed SLP, you will support student goals outlined in IEPs, document progress, collaborate with teachers and families, and create engaging therapy activities. Active California SLPA licensure or eligibility required; degree in SLPA or SLP; minimum 100 hours

Qualifications

• Active California SLPA license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Graduate of SLPA program with associate degree or bachelor’s in SLP/communication disorders.
• Minimum 100 hours of supervised field work or equivalent.
• Current SLPA licensure in state of practice.
• One year of SLPA experience preferred.
• Health screening and TB/PPD compliance as applicable.
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of a SLPA program with an associate’s degree, or have a bachelor’s degree in a speech-language pathology or communication disorders program
• Successful completion of a minimum of 100 hours of supervised field work experience or its clinical experience equivalent as required by state and/or contract
• Current certification or licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in the State of Practice
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
• One (1) year of prior professional Speech-Language Pathology Assistant experience preferred
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
