Qualifications

  • ASHA certificate and OBESPA licensure required.
  • Valid Oklahoma driver's license required.
  • Knowledge of speech and language development and therapy techniques.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver therapy under the supervision of a licensed SLP.
  • Implement IEP goals and monitor progress.
  • Collect and document student performance data.
  • Support families and staff on therapy goals and home practice.
  • Manage therapy materials and environment.
  • Ensure supervision compliance and participate in professional development.

Speech Language Pathologist Assistant

Grade:

Teacher's Salary Schedule + 5% Special Education Supplement

Position Summary:

The Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant provides direct support to licensed Speech-Language Pathologists in the screening, treatment, and documentation of speech and language disorders. The position works under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and assists in delivering speech therapy services to students

with speech, language, and communication disorders.

The position implements therapy plans, delivers individualized interventions, collects and records student performance data, and supports the goals of the therapy team across assigned school sites.

  • Therapy delivery under the direction of a supervising Speech-Language Pathologist

  • Student performance data collection and documentation

  • Professional development and compliance with supervision requirements
Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CDIS)

Experience:

  • Previous experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant or an SLPA externship

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Possess and maintain an Oklahoma Teacher Certification in Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant required
  • Possess and maintain an ASHA certificate and OBESPA licensure required
  • Valid Oklahoma driver's license required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of speech and language development, disorders, and therapy techniques
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with documentation and progress tracking
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to work with diverse cultural populations
  • Awareness of laws and policies regarding special education
  • Organizational and time-management skills
  • Assistive technology experience preferred
  • Bilingual preferred
