Job summary

Job description

Job Summary

Speech Language Pathologist (Acute PRN) – At HCA Florida Brandon Hospital, you will plan and administer medically prescribed treatment programs for the rehabilitation of speech, language, cognitive, and oral motor disorders.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate the patient’s condition, obtain case history, and administer diagnostic tests to determine the nature and degree of speech and language problems.
  • Establish, implement, and modify treatment plans in accordance with hospital/department policies and procedures.
  • Determine when patient progress and goals have been met or medical necessity no longer warrants intervention.
  • Establish provisions for continuing services and make referrals to other professionals regarding patient care as necessary.
Requirements
  • Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology required.
  • State of Florida Speech‑Language Pathologist licensure required.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in direct patient rehabilitation.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) awarded by the American Speech‑Language Hearing Association.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read and comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions, and PC skills.
