Job summary

Trinity Health MI is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide comprehensive services in an acute care setting with coverage for inpatient rehabilitation and videofluoroscopic swallow studies. The role emphasizes evaluation, treatment planning, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes.

The position requires a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology, Michigan licensure (or eligibility), and CCC status through ASHA. BLS or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • State of Michigan Speech-Language Pathologist license or eligible for licensure prior to hire.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology through ASHA or provisionally accepted during CF year.
  • American Heart Association BLS or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Independently evaluates and diagnoses functional abilities/disabilities in areas of speech, language, voice, cognition, feeding and swallowing, fluency, resonance, and auditory habilitation/rehabilitation.
  • Establishes patient-centered treatment goals with patient, family, and care team; writes treatment plans and administers treatment.
  • Documents evaluation and treatment in compliance with department standards, ASHA code of ethics, and medical-legal regulations.
  • Provides education to patient and family regarding evaluation results, plan of care, and home exercise programs.
  • Provides culturally responsive care by creating a safe environment and obtaining language interpretation as needed.
