Job summary

Providence Rochester is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist for day shift coverage in Acute Care, IPR and Outpatient settings, including weekends on-call every 4–6 weeks. Requires residency out of program, and previous hospital experience is preferred.

Evaluates and treats patients; documents records; educates families on treatment plans; participates in discharge planning; knowledge of swallow studies with radiology is expected.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• National Praxis Examination successfully completed.
• Clinical Fellowship Year completed.
• One year of clinical experience in a hospital setting required.
• State of Michigan license and ASHA CCC-SLP certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs therapy interventions utilizing standard therapy techniques for the patient.
• Educates and counsels patient and family regarding treatment plans.
• Maintains clinical records and follows performance improvement recommendations.
• Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from speech therapy services.
• Provides information regarding appropriate support programs.

Contingent - Day Shift - Weekday & Rotating Weekends at Providence Rochester

Day Shift-7:00a-3:30p (some flexibility)- covering Acute Care, IPR & Outpatient; covering for vacations, holidays & high volume + weekend on-call, once every 4-6 weeks. Will be required to work at least 1 on call shift on Saturday every 4 to 6 weeks.

Prefer at least 3 years' experience in hospital setting. Must be out of residency. Require knowledge of swallow studies with radiology.

Evaluates and treats patients requiring speech-language therapy.
