Responsibilities

• Serves as a resource to school staff in developing a balanced program for oral communication and speech improvement.

• Assists and guides teachers in observing, describing, and referring suspected and identified speech-language and hearing disorders.
• Performs thorough assessment and diagnosis of speech, voice, hearing and language disorders.
• Provides screening to identify students with possible speech-language and hearing disorders.
• Delivers appropriate individualized therapy programs to meet student needs and to correct disorders.
• Collaborates with classroom teachers to implement therapy suggestions into daily activities.
• Provides information, support, and counseling to parents and families when appropriate.
• Offers in-service education and serves as a consultant to staff on speech-language topics.
• Maintains thorough, ongoing records for students receiving therapy and Medicaid documentation.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

12. 12. Performs all other duties as assigned.

TERMS: 190 Days.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of Professional Personnel.
