Job summary

Peterson Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Wheeling, WV is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to help residents improve communication, swallowing, cognitive, and functional abilities.

As part of an interdisciplinary team, you will evaluate, treat, document progress and educate residents and families about plans.

Qualifications

  • Current Speech-Language Pathologist license required.
  • CPR certification required.
  • At least one year of SLP experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills required.
  • Compassionate and resident-focused approach.
  • Ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate residents' speech, language, communication, cognitive, and swallowing abilities.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on each resident's needs.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions and monitor resident progress.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, rehabilitation professionals, residents, and families.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Educate residents and families regarding treatment plans, recommendations, and progress.
  • Monitor and document residents' response to treatment.
  • Participate as part of an interdisciplinary team to support resident-centered care.
  • Help residents achieve the highest possible level of independence and quality of life.

Your Role as an SLP

As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you'll help residents improve and maintain their communication, swallowing, cognitive, and overall functional abilities.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on each resident's needs
