Job summary

Sentara Health Plans is seeking a part-time Speech Language Pathologist for our Woodbridge, VA location. This role assesses, plans, and participates in rehabilitative programs to improve speech, swallowing, language, voice, and fluency disorders while providing education to patients and caregivers.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree with a Master’s (or Doctorate in Speech) and a valid Speech License, and will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree preferred; Doctorate in Speech is listed as a degree option.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, organize, and participate in rehabilitative programs addressing speech, swallowing, language, voice and fluency disorders.
• Provide age-appropriate education for clients and caregivers.
• Initiate, develop and maintain collaborative interactions with internal and external team members, patients and family to improve outcomes.
• Establish and update formal care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
