Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
  • Eligibility for or completion of DBHDS Early Intervention Certification.
  • Valid Virginia driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work independently and meet documentation deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct developmental screenings and speech assessments using EI tools.
  • Provide routines-based services and caregiver coaching in natural environments.
  • Develop and review the IFSP with families.
  • Initiate services within 30-day Part C timeline and maintain timely communication.
  • Complete documentation and billing in the EHR within EI timelines.
  • Collaborate with Service Coordinators, families, and providers for coordinated care.
  • Maintain an active caseload of approximately 25–30 children.
  • Attend virtual or in-person team meetings as needed.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Speech Language Pathologist to provide Part C Early Intervention services for infants and toddlers (birth–3) in the Rural Infant Services Program. Contractors deliver high-quality, family-centered intervention in natural environments and collaborate closely with caregivers and team members. This role offers flexible scheduling, steady referrals, and meaningful work with young children and their families. This role requires strong collaboration, excellent communication, and a family-centered approach aligned with Part C Early Intervention practices. Contractors will work closely with the RISP Program Coordinator, Clinical Lead, and transdisciplinary team.

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct developmental screenings and speech assessments using approved EI tools.
  • Provide routines-based speech services and caregiver coaching in natural environments.
  • Participate in the development and ongoing review of the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).
  • Initiate services within the required 30-day Part C timeline and maintain timely communication with families.
  • Complete documentation and billing in the electronic health record (EHR) within established EI timelines.
  • Collaborate with Service Coordinators, families, and other providers to ensure coordinated care.
  • Maintain an active caseload (approximately 25–30 children, depending on availability).
  • Attend virtual or in-person team meetings as needed.
Requirements
  • Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Eligibility for/or completion of DBHDS Early Intervention Certification.
  • Valid Virginia driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Current TB test (within 30 days of contracting and annually) and current Infant/Child CPR & First Aid certification.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet documentation deadlines.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. and able to sign a 1099 Independent Contractor Agreement and W-9.
