Seymour Community Schools is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to help reduce speech and hearing impediments that affect students’ access to education. The role involves delivering individualized therapy, collaborating with teachers, and supporting families within the school setting.
The ideal candidate will hold an MS in the field, possess a valid Indiana SLP license and Indiana State Teacher License, and demonstrate experience with students.
Evaluated by: Director of Exceptional Needs and/or appropriate administrative personnel
Reports to: Director of Exceptional Needs and building Principal and/or appropriate administrative personnel
Terms of Employment: 185 working days per year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.
SUMMARY: To help reduce or eliminate speech and hearing impediments that interfere with the individual student’s ability to derive full benefit from the Corporation educational program.
M.S. in area of major study
Successful experience working with students preferred.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, correspondences, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
Ability to apply general mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, peers, parents and community, and ability to speak clearly and concisely in written or oral communication.
