Job description

Join a hospital team where the Speech Language Pathologist is empowered to connect, innovate, and inspire recovery!

At this mission-driven healthcare organization, the Speech Therapist practices at the top of license in a culture centered on excellence and compassion. National recognition for quality, safety, and patient experience is complemented by community awards honoring service, outreach, and volunteerism. Advanced resources, including a modern EMR, video fluoroscopy, FEES, AAC solutions, and evidence-based protocols, support efficient and precise care. Generous education funds, specialty certifications, and opportunities to participate in research encourage continued growth for the Speech Therapist.

As part of a small community hospital, the SLP provides personalized care supported by short lines of communication and timely decision-making. The inpatient unit, swing-bed program, and outpatient therapy gym offer a varied caseload spanning acute, post-acute, and ambulatory settings. Well-appointed treatment spaces, portable instrumentation, and telehealth capabilities facilitate prompt swallow evaluations and communication therapies. A highly collaborative environment keeps the SLP integral to stroke pathways, delirium prevention, and safe nutrition initiatives.

This Clinical Speech Pathologist reports to a supportive Rehabilitation Services Manager, with matrix support from Nursing and Quality. Daily practice includes collaboration with friendly nurses, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, surgeons, dietitians, and a diverse rehabilitation team committed to whole-person care. Key responsibilities include evaluation and treatment planning, patient and family education, interprofessional rounding, and involvement in performance improvement. Comprehensive onboarding, mentorship, and manageable caseloads allow the Clinical Speech Pathologist to remain focused on outcomes, access, and service.

Located in scenic Washington State in the Pacific Northwest, the Medical Speech Pathologist can enjoy four-season recreation, mild summers, and convenient access to mountains, rivers, and evergreen trails. Weekend activities include hiking, skiing, kayaking, farmers markets, art walks, and live concerts at intimate venues. Regional highlights feature craft coffee roasters, independent bookstores, lively food trucks, and farm-to-table dining supported by local growers. A relaxed lifestyle, family-friendly neighborhoods, and an easy commute make this an appealing move for a Medical Speech Pathologist seeking balance.

  • The SLP will receive competitive compensation and a full suite of health benefits.
