Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Acute Care Therapy Department at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center provides the evaluation and treatment of patients with a wide variety of diagnoses in a fast‑paced, challenging, and rewarding medical setting. Our therapists are critical members of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to achieving optimal outcomes for our patients. We are committed to teamwork and collaboration; our participation in interdisciplinary patient rounding occurs daily on a number of units throughout the facility, providing therapy professionals to work autonomously.

Expectations
  • Provides patient care, including evaluating the patient for treatment, providing and directing administration of the care plan upon referral from the physician.
  • Consults with other health‑care disciplines to coordinate therapeutic programs and discharge planning for individual patients.
  • Instructs patients and caregivers in home‑program exercises and functional activities.
  • Assists with patient program management while delivering quality patient services.

Job Requirements
Minimum
  • Internship or rotation in an appropriate clinical setting.
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.

  • Arizona license in the professional area.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification.
Preferred
  • Two (2) years progressive experience in a clinical area performing patient clinical care.
  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in an appropriate clinical area.
