Job summary

SSM Health in Oklahoma City is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist for PRN, Day Shift assignments in an inpatient acute care setting. The role involves evaluating and treating individuals with speech, language, cognitive, and communicative needs, with periodic night/weekend shifts and associated differentials.

Responsibilities include therapy interventions, patient and family education, discharge planning, and accurate documentation.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0‑25 lbs.
• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
• Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
• Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication; ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
• Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
• Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
• Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25‑50 lbs.
• Rare climbing.

Required Professional License And/Or Certifications

Resuscitation Certification Requirement: Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) required within 90 days of employment. Other resuscitation certifications may be required dependent on department.

• Speech‑Language Pathologist, Licensed – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
• Speech Language Pathologist – Missouri Division of Professional Registration
• Speech Language Pathologist – Oklahoma Board of Examiners for Speech‑Language Pathology & Audiology
• Speech‑Language Pathologist – Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services
