Job summary

Arbor Associates seeks a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to provide in-home services for infants and toddlers from birth to age three. You will work within a transdisciplinary team to evaluate, treat, and support families under IFSP goals.

The role emphasizes family-centered care, collaboration across disciplines, thorough documentation, and adherence to Early Intervention regulations. A valid SLP license, ASHA CCC, and driver's license are required.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
  • Valid state SLP license.
  • ASHA CCC required.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • 3–5 years of related experience preferred.
  • Experience with infants/toddlers in home-based settings ideal.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct speech and language therapy to infants and toddlers in a home-based setting.
  • Deliver service coordination and supports in home/community to meet IFSP goals.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary evaluations and communicate with families and care teams.
  • Evaluate and address communication and swallowing difficulties.
  • Collaborate with professionals across disciplines and seek consultations as needed.
  • Provide training to parents and caregivers on speech, language, and swallowing.
  • Maintain timely documentation and licensure compliance; pursue ongoing CE.

Speech-Language PathologistPosition SummaryThe Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides speech, language, communication, and swallowing services to infants and toddlers from birth to age three and their caregivers in a family-focused, home-based setting. The SLP works as part of a transdisciplinary team and provides evaluation, treatment, consultation, caregiver education, and documentation in accordance with Early Intervention regulations and applicable professional standards.The SLP supports children's communication, overall wellness, and quality of life while delivering high-quality, family-centered services.Essential ResponsibilitiesProvide individual short- or long-term direct speech and language therapy when indicated through the multidisciplinary team's consensus, including parent input, and as documented in the child's Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).Provide therapy, service coordination, and related supports in home and community settings to address identified developmental needs and IFSP goals.Participate in multidisciplinary evaluations and provide verbal and written information to parents, caregivers, and other members of the service team.Evaluate and address communication and swallowing difficulties among children receiving services.Collaborate with professionals across disciplines and seek consultation in areas outside the SLP's expertise, including social work, cognition, and motor development.Provide individual or group education and training to parents, caregivers, and team members in areas related to speech, language, communication, and swallowing.Provide consultation, supervision, or orientation to other speech-language therapists as directed.May provide leadership in toddler groups and other program activities as assigned.Maintain timely and accurate documentation in accordance with professional licensure requirements, billing requirements, agency policies, and Early Intervention regulations.Maintain professional licensure and current knowledge through continuing education, professional organizations, conferences, and in-service training.Maintain pediatric CPR certification.Safeguard confidential and sensitive information.Protect the rights and dignity of children and families receiving services.Follow all applicable safety policies, procedures, and regulations and respond appropriately to safety hazards and emergencies.Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment and properly care for equipment and property.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsEducationMaster's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.Licensure and CredentialsValid state Speech-Language Pathology license.American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC).Valid driver's license.Safe driving record, automobile insurance, and access to a personal vehicle for work-related travel.ExperienceApproximately 3–5 years of related professional experience.Experience providing treatment to infants and toddlers from birth to age three in a family-focused, home-based setting is preferred.Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team is preferred.Advanced knowledge or experience in one or more specialized treatment areas, such as feeding, autism, or hearing impairment, is preferred.Physical and Work RequirementsAbility to perform essential job functions while sitting and standing for extended periods.Ability to speak, listen, walk, twist, and work effectively in a variety of environments.Ability to complete duties in noisy environments.Ability to remain awake and alert while on duty.Ability to drive as required by the position.Ability to move equipment weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.Peripheral vision and depth perception sufficient to perform essential job functions.Professional ExpectationsThe Speech-Language Pathologist is expected to maintain professional standards, treat children, families, colleagues, and other stakeholders with respect and dignity, protect confidential information, comply with applicable policies and regulations, and actively contribute to quality improvement and effective team processes.Why Join Arbor Associates?At Arbor Associates, we are dedicated to connecting caring professionals with rewarding opportunities in education, healthcare, and human services.
