Overview
The Laurel School District is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Speech Language Pathologist, beginning the 2025-2026 school year.
Starting Date: Aug 1, 2025
Salary Range: $43,675.00 - $69,200.00 (Salary is dependent on years of experience and educational level). This position is part of the Certified Bargaining Agreement, and placement on the salary matrix will be limited to ten years of service/experience.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited college/university.
- Current Montana Speech Pathologist License on file in the Central Office.
- Desire to continue career improvement.
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle.
Essential Functions
- Assist in developing speech and language skills to facilitate the personal, social, and intellectual development of students.
- Establish a positive learning environment and respond to the individual needs of students.
- Ensure that all activities conform to district guidelines.
- Screen kindergarten and process referrals in compliance with child find regulations following a disability referral.
- Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the student’s communication skills and summarize data for presentation at Child Study Team meetings.
- Determine eligibility and need for placement in special education services in cooperation with the Child Study Team, using data from the comprehensive assessment.
- Develop and participate in the IEP process.
- Provide individual students and/or groups with appropriate speech, aural rehabilitation and/or language therapy to remediate communication disorders (including receptive and expressive language, articulation, voice, fluency, and hearing impairment). Ages: 3 to 21 years.
- May provide consultation/information for the regular classroom teacher and other school personnel about speech/language.
- Assist with district-wide preschool screening/evaluations.
- Develop and maintain appropriate records.

- Must work in noisy and crowded environments.
