Job summary

CommonSpirit Health's CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to assess, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders, aiming to improve patient quality of life.

You will perform comprehensive evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, document findings, and contribute to program development while upholding compassionate, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

  • Nine-month internship with certificate of clinical competency/completion.
  • Two years experience and demonstrated leadership to act as area supervisor or weekend supervisor.
  • CPR certification required at hire.

Responsibilities

*Job Summary and Responsibilities*

As our Speech Language Pathologist, you will be a vital clinician, expertly assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders to significantly improve patient quality of life.

Every day, you will conduct comprehensive evaluations for all referred patients, meticulously implementing individualized treatment plans. You'll contribute clinical expertise to develop/upgrade treatment programs/protocols, and actively shape departmental and organizational goals.

To be successful in this role, you will possess advanced clinical knowledge, exceptional diagnostic/therapeutic skills, and a compassionate, patient-centered approach.

  • Performs evaluation/assessment using critical judgement and clinical decision making.
  • Accurately documents and interprets findings from evaluation/assessment.
  • Utilizes information about patients pre admit/pre occurrence status to establish goals and develop treatment plans.
  • Develops speech/language therapy treatment plan to support the patient’s goals and is reasonable given the identified problems or deficits.
  • Obtains or verifies all physician orders for procedures/therapies.
  • Delegates tasks based on patient load, staffing, patient acuity and departmental needs.
