Job summary

GoldsboroRehabilitation And Healthcare Center in Goldsboro, NC is hiring a Speech Therapist (Full Time) accepting CFY candidates. The role involves evaluations, treatment planning, documentation, billing, supervision of juniors, and active participation in interdisciplinary care teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive speech therapy evaluations per MD orders.
• Document findings on evaluation formats neatly and accurately.
• Provide a comprehensive treatment plan with goals, frequency, duration and modalities.
• Ensure MD orders are obtained for evaluations, treatments, recertification and discharges.
• Provide comprehensive treatment utilizing modalities and modify as indicated.
• Document patient progress in approved formats timely.
• Document monthly updated treatment plans in standardized format.
• Document discharge and in-service as indicated.
• Document caregiver or discharge in-services in approved format.
• Complete any other documentation required by Facility.
• Document care plans and MDS information as deemed necessary by the facility.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings as indicated.
• Participate in facility committee meetings as indicated.
• Act as rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
• Participates in scheduling of patients.
• Perform screens as indicated.
• Complete billing timely and bill patients ethically and accurately for all services.
• Cover other therapists’ patient caseload during absence as necessary.
• Supervise junior staff or students per state/federal guidelines; co-sign CFY notes as indicated.
• Maintain professional relationships with coworkers, staff, patients and families.
• Provide in-service education to rehab staff and facility staff.
• Comply with facility policies, safety guidelines and HIPAA.
• Report to work on time and maintain professional image.
• Adhere to productivity requirements and submit reports timely.
• Comply with HR policies (lunch, overtime, time off).
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere and professional conduct.
• Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor or Regional Manager.
• Adhere to all facility systems and operations.

Qualifications

1.Graduate of an accredited university with an MA, or M.S. in communication disorders that is recognized by ASHA and state board.

2.Holds current license and/or registration in the state NC.

3.Successful completion of CFY.

Job Responsibilities:

• 1.Provide comprehensive speech therapy evaluations as per MD orders.
• 2.Document findings on the standardized evaluation format neatly, accurately and adhering to all guidelines.
• 3.Provide a comprehensive treatment plan including long and short term goals, frequency, duration and treatment modalities, therapeutic interventions, clinical and technical guidelines.
• 4.Ensure MD orders are obtained for evaluations, treatments, recertification and discharges.
• 5.Provide comprehensive treatment to patients utilizing modalities and modifying patient treatment as indicated and adhering to precautions.
• 6.Document patient’s progress in approved format accurately and timely.
• 7.Document monthly updated treatment plan in standardized format in timely manner.
• 8.Document patient’s discharge and in-service as indicated.
• 9.Document any caregiver or discharge in-services in approved format as indicated.
• 10.Complete any and all other documentation required by Facility.
• 11.Document care plans and information needed for the MDS as deemed necessary by the facility.
• 12.Attend facility and rehab meetings as indicated by supervisor and/or Regional Manager.
• 13.Participate in facility committee meetings as indicated.

• 20.Maintain professional relationship with co-workers, facility staff, patients and patient families.
• 21.Provide in-service education regarding patient care or speech therapy service areas to rehab staff, facility staff and community as needed.
• 22.Comply with all facility policies and procedures and safety guidelines.
• 23.Comply with patient confidentiality and Federal Resident Rights and HIPAA legislation.
• 24.Report to work on time, adhere to scheduled hours and project a professional image at all times.
• 25.Adhere to productivity requirements, complete productivity reports and submit in a timely manner.
• 26.Comply with all Facility Human Resource policies i.e. lunch, overtime, sick and time off notification.
• 27.Maintain a positive work atmosphere by demonstrating and communicating in a professional manner so as to foster positive relations with customers, clients, co-workers and managers.
• 28.Perform any other duties assigned by the department supervisor, lead therapist or Regional Manager.
• 29.Adhere to any and all other Facility written and oral systems and operations.
