Job summary

Emerald Nursing & Rehab Columbus is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our rehab-focused team in Columbus, NE. This part-time role (20-25 hours/week) emphasizes improving residents' communication, cognition, and swallowing safety through individualized therapy plans.

You will work with physicians, nursing staff, and other therapists to provide comprehensive care while maintaining compliant documentation and a compassionate, resident-centered approach.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license in good standing.
  • Experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or geriatric care preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach to resident care.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat speech, language, communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to maximize each resident’s potential.
  • Monitor progress and adjust interventions for the best outcomes.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Educate residents, families, and staff on treatment strategies and swallowing safety.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with standards.
