Job summary

Haywood Regional Medical Center in Clyde, NC, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our rehabilitation team. You will provide therapy to improve speech, language, cognitive and swallowing abilities and coordinate care with the team.

You will document patient care, communicate progress, and help with scheduling and follow‑through programs for patients and families. The role supports a patient‑centered culture and compliance with clinical standards.

  • Communicate patient progress to supervisor and team; assist with scheduling and post charges.
  • Document patient care in accordance with Lifepoint, regulatory, licensing and payer requirements.
  • Instruct family or nursing staff in follow‑through programs.
  • Maintain equipment and work area in a safe and clean condition.
  • Support marketing efforts and team conferences.
  • Adhere to the Company's Code of Business Conduct and state/federal laws.

More About Our Team

Join our rehabilitation team of over 50 clinicians (physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech language pathology) with the opportunity to work in one of our 3 outpatient locations and/or an acute care hospital with 154 beds. Our featured hospital units include medical surgical, same day surgery, intensive care unit, progressive care unit, behavioral health unit, emergency department and women's services. At Haywood Rehabilitation, we value excellent patient care that ensures optimal outcomes, a collaborative team environment and a culture of respect. We employ a variety of specialty trained clinicians and feature one-on-one patient care. We offer flexibility that may include non-traditional schedules to best meet patient and employee needs.

How You'll Contribute
  • Plays an important part in helping our patient to recover and feel better about themselves by providing therapy to maximize speech, language, cognitive and swallowing abilities.
  • Communicate patient progress or problems to supervisor and other team members; assist with patient scheduling and post charges daily to patient records.
  • Document patient care in accordance with Lifepoint, regulatory, licensing, payer and accrediting requirements.
  • Instruct patient's family or nursing staff in follow-through programs.
  • Maintain equipment and work area in a safe and clean condition.
  • Make presentations to support marketing efforts, at team conferences and in-services.
  • Handle job responsibilities in accordance with the Company's Code of Business Conduct, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, appropriate professional standard and applicable state/federal laws.
What We're Looking For
  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
  • ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
  • One year of experience preferred
  • ASLS certification preferred
