ACLD’s Preschool Education Programs at Kramer Learning Center and The Alan and Ellen Spiegel Children’s Center are designed to meet the individual needs of young children diagnosed with developmental disabilities. Quality education and therapeutic services are provided during school hours by a highly trained, dedicated staff of professionals. Additional supports include Foster Grandparents, Pet Therapy, and Music and Creative Arts Therapy programs. Preschool services at both Bay Shore sites include developmental evaluations, center-based classrooms, and community-based support services such as a Special Education Itinerant Teacher and related clinical services.
ACLD (Adults and Children with Learning and Developmental Disabilities, Inc.) is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to develop, implement, and maintain intervention strategies for children with communication and related disorders. The intervention should be adapted to a trans-disciplinary, naturalistic teaching model. Competency in pediatric feeding and communication is required, with responsibilities including diagnostics, receptive and expressive language, pragmatics, oral motor/feeding skills, articulation, phonology, voice, and fluency.
