Job summary

Vertis Therapy is seeking a passionate Speech-Language Pathologist to join a memory care community in Kansas City, KS. The role supports residents with communication, cognitive and swallowing needs and offers flexible scheduling (FT/PT/PRN) with professional collaboration.

Responsibilities include assessment, treatment planning, and documentation in an EMR, working closely with an interdisciplinary team to achieve positive resident outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • CCC from ASHA or eligibility for CFY.
  • Valid state SLP license or eligibility.
  • Strong assessment and treatment planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate residents' communication, cognitive, and swallowing abilities and create individualized plans.
  • Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries in the EMR.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to monitor progress.
  • Participate in team development meetings and ongoing education.

Description

We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Full-Time, Part-Time, or PRN Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team at a beautiful Assisted Living community with Memory Care in Kansas City, KS.

The Speech Language Pathologist will develop individualized treatment plans, provide skilled speech-language pathology services, monitor resident progress, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support positive outcomes.

Responsibilities

Resident Assessment and Treatment: Evaluate residents' communication, cognitive, and swallowing abilities. Establish and implement individualized treatment plans based on resident needs and goals to improve function, independence, and quality of life.

Documentation: Complete timely and accurate evaluations, progress notes, treatment documentation, and discharge summaries in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.

Professional Development: Participate in team development meetings

Qualifications

Education: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or be eligible for a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).

Licensure: Valid Speech-Language Pathologist state license or license eligibility.

Skills: Strong clinical assessment and treatment skills. Proficient in developing and implementing effective treatment plans. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Physical Requirements: Ability to assist residents as needed and perform physical tasks related to therapy. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the facility as required.

Technology: Computer proficiency and ability to document in an electronic medical record platform.
