• Assist the SLP in providing therapeutic programs to meet individual student needs.
• Assist the SLP in screening for speech impairments without clinical interpretation.
• Follow documented treatment plans or protocols from the supervising SLP.
• Document student performance and report to the supervising SLP.
• Program and provide instruction in the use of AAC devices.
• Provide information, support, and counseling to parents and families under supervision.

Specific Performance Responsibilities

• Assist the SLP as a resource to school staff members in the development of a balanced program for oral communication and speech improvement
• Assist the SLP in providing a therapeutic program to meet the individual needs of students with speech and/or hearing impairments.
• Assist the SLP in providing a thorough assessment of articulation, voice, hearing, fluency, or language impairments without clinical interpretation
• Assist the SLP in screening to identify students with speech impairment at regular intervals and at specified levels without clinical interpretation.
• Follow documented treatment plans or protocols developed by the supervising SLP
• Document student performance and report this information to the supervising SLP
• Program and provide instruction in the use of AAC devices.
• Provide information, support, and counseling to parents and families when appropriate and under the guidance of the supervising SLP.
