Job summary

Montgomery-Public-Schools is seeking a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. The SLPA will help individuals with communication disorders improve speech, language, voice, fluency, and social communication skills, while implementing documented IEP goals and services.

• Associate’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting or related field approved by the state licensing board.
• SLPA license or certification as required by the state.

• Basic knowledge of speech-language pathology terminology, developmental milestones, and therapy practices.

Reports To: Special Education Director and Speech-Language Pathologist

Qualifications: Associate’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting, or a related field approved by the state licensing board, SLPA license or certification as required by the state, completion of supervised clinical fieldwork experience, basic knowledge of speech-language pathology terminology, developmental milestones, and therapy practices, and such alternatives to the qualifications as the Board may find appropriate.
