Job summary

St. Catherine of Siena Hospital, part of Catholic Health, seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat patients with speech, language and swallowing impairments in our Smithtown campus.

You will perform swallow evaluations, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team. Requirements include a Master’s in SLP, ASHA CCC recommended, NY license, BLS, and MBS experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (ASHA) recommended.
• New York State license and registration in Speech-Language Pathology required.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association required.
• MBS (Modified Barium Swallow) experience/competency preferred.
• Healthcare experience is required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to comply with all regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients with speech, language and/or swallowing impairments.
• Perform objective swallow evaluations.
• Recommend least restrictive safe diet consistencies to maximize patient nutrition.
• Patient population includes cardiac, orthopedic, neurologic, vascular, pulmonary and medical-surgical patients.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and set goals for patients needing speech and language or swallowing interventions; re-evaluate and modify as warranted.
• Address articulation, voice, fluency, receptive and expressive language, oral motor skills and dysphagia.
• Accurate documentation for all patient visits in EMR.
• Educate patient and family members.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team for plan of care.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.

Salary Range

USD $64.55 - USD $64.55 /Hr.
