Overview

Now offering up to $2500 hiring incentive.

The Speech Language Pathologist II will provide direct patient care for assessing and treating communication (i.e., speech/language), oral motor, and feeding/swallowing disorders. Responsibilities include administering department and program functions, supervising speech language pathologists at various levels, maintaining documentation related to services offered, and participating in intra- and interdisciplinary training programs.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide functional communication (i.e., speech/language), oral motor, and feeding/swallowing assessment or treatment, considering patients' and families' needs and interests.
  2. Supervise graduate students and clinical fellows, depending on experience and expertise.
  3. Maintain documentation consistent with Institute and Department expectations, as well as guidelines by The Joint Commission, CARF, and ASHA.
  4. Participate in intra-disciplinary and interdisciplinary activities related to patient care, such as team conferences and professional training.
  5. Maintain appropriate professional affiliations for licensure and certification, following standards set by the Institute and the Program.
  6. Participate in departmental and community outreach activities, such as presentations and committee service.
  7. Assist supervisors in setting and implementing goals for professional growth and development.

Qualifications

  • Current CPR certification.
  • Demonstrate competence across all age groups served by KKI, including neonates, pediatric, adolescent, and some adult populations with disabilities.

Education:

  • Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology with clinical requirements completed.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology from ASHA.
  • Eligibility for Maryland State Licensure in Speech Language Pathology.

Experience:

  • At least three years of licensed experience in Speech Language Pathology, including CFY, with a minimum of two years in the area of specialty.
