Job summary

Conway Medical Center seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide high-quality patient care, perform evaluations, and plan treatments. You will educate patients, families, and professionals on communication and swallowing disorders, and complete required documentation in a timely manner.

You will participate in performance improvement initiatives, stay current in clinical practice, and organize daily schedules to prioritize responsibilities without impacting patient care.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university program required.
• Licensed by the South Carolina Board of Examiners in Speech Pathology and Audiology required.
• Current Certificate of Clinical Competence by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Job description

The Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) will provide patients with quality, professional care, while performing evaluations and planning for treatments. The SLP will discuss, written and/or verbal education on communication and/or swallowing disorders to patients, families, and professionals. The SLP will complete required documentation accurately and within the designated time frame which may include but is not limited to writing reports, billing, and documenting in the professional education database. The SLP will participate in performance improvement initiatives within assigned work area as well as take initiative to remain current in clinical practice through lectures, literature, and other educational opportunities. The SLP will organizes daily schedule to prioritize responsibilities including the integration of meetings, responsibilities, or tasks into schedule without negative impact on patient care or productivity.

Education:

• Masters’ degree (MS) in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited university program required.

Experience:

• One year clinical experience in health care preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

• Licensed by the state of South Carolina Board of Examiners in Speech Pathology and Audiology required.
• Current Certificate of Clinical Competence by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Special Skills:

• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with nursing colleagues, physicians, department heads, and member of executive leadership.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft outlook, word, Excel, Explorer and PowerPoint required.
• Exemplary core customer service skills strongly required.
