Job summary

Career Links is seeking a qualified Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for the 2026/2027 school year. You will provide speech-language services to students with communication needs in a school setting, collaborating with teachers, families, and related service providers as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Active SC SLP license or eligibility for licensure.
  • SC DOE Certification as Speech-Language Therapist or eligibility.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations per IDEA and SCED regulations.
  • Develop and implement IEPs based on assessment findings and student needs.
  • Provide direct and indirect speech-language therapy services to eligible students.
  • Maintain documentation, service logs, progress reports, and Medicaid billing documentation.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and related service providers.
  • Attend and participate in IEP, eligibility, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Utilize AAC and evidence-based practices; support inclusive education.
  • Monitor progress and adjust interventions to maximize outcomes.

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and passionate Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team for the 2026/2027 school year. In this role, you will provide speech-language services to students with a variety of communication needs, helping them achieve academic, social, and functional success within the educational environment.

You will work collaboratively with educators, families, and related service providers as part of a multidisciplinary special education team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations in accordance with IDEA, South Carolina Department of Education regulations, and district procedures.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on assessment findings and student needs.
  • Provide direct and indirect speech-language therapy services to eligible students.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, service logs, progress reports, and Medicaid billing documentation as required.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and related service providers to support student success.
  • Attend and actively participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices and a variety of therapeutic approaches, including AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) when appropriate.
  • Support inclusive educational practices and provide consultation to school personnel regarding communication strategies.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions to maximize outcomes.
Qualifications
Required
  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited program.
  • Active South Carolina Speech-Language Pathologist License issued by the South Carolina Board of Examiners in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, or eligibility for licensure.
  • South Carolina Department of Education Certification as a Speech-Language Therapist (or eligibility for certification).
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
Preferred
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Previous experience working in a school setting.
  • Experience with IEP development and implementation.
  • Familiarity with Medicaid billing and compliance requirements.
  • Experience serving diverse student populations and varying disability categories.
